Mount Baker Adventure

We all met at school at 7:15 on Saturday morning.  It was cold, dark and raining hard.  Not sure what the conditions would be like up on the mountain.  The Mt. Baker Snow Report stated they had recevied 8 inches of new snow.  We were all hoping that was the case.  It kept raining hard most of the way up the mountain, but finally as we neared the upper lodge, the rain turned to snow.  There was not the 8 inches of new snow as stated...there was maybe a "skiff" of new snow.  But we were undaunted.  We headed to the rental shop to get our gear.  The staff at the Mt. Baker Board/Ski Shop was very helpful and had all the girls outfitted and out the door in no time.  Lessons were not scheduled until 11:30, so the girls had some time to get some pointers from their fearless leaders on the bunny hills.  We all tried the rope tow as well.  After lessons we had lunch and a much needed rest.  Everyone headed back out and almost 100% of the girls managed the chair lift.  What an accomplishment!  It was a great adventure and fun was had by all.
