We have been busy!

In December we hosted a gourmet meal that was auctioned off at the Fourth Corner Fly Fishers auction.  A professional chef came in to help us prepare the meal.  It was a great time and we learned a lot!

In January we ventured up to Mount Baker for a day of skiing and boarding.  Some took lessons, some did not.  The conditions were not ideal (despite the snow report, which was very misleading).  It was cold, snowy and very windy.  It was truly an adventure!

Adventure #1

The Girls had their first adventure at Northwest Trout Ponds.  Casting instruction provided by volunteers from the Fourth Corner Fly Fishing Club, Mrs. Sue Swetman and Mr. Frank Koterba.  Everyone practiced tying the Improved Clinch Knot before tying on their first fly for fishing! We lost a few flies…caught a few trees but not too bad for our first time out.  Yajie landed the first (and only) fish of the day.  We could see them cruising right by our flies – we tried woolley worms, scuds, dry and beaded woolley worms – no luck.   We enjoyed a  sunny day and picnic lunch together.  The day ended with election of officers.  A great day overall.
